Holds your music and tv shows. Will not be big enough to hold all of them, but there is a way to prioritize. Only need the computer on when you want something that's not on the hard drive of the apple tv itself.
Downsides include that you will need to have it hooked up to a TV to operate it. But then, you can also watch shows/movies as long as they're ripped to a compatible format. Won't be quite as flexible as some other options, but will be plug and play.
