I have an original Squeezebox and loved every minute since I bought it a
few years ago. I'm running it wired to my dual G5 Mac (4Gig RAM, 500 gig
music library, most recent version of OSX and all updates applied.)

However, my system hard drive crashed last week (all my music is on an
external and wasn't affected) so I had to rebuild it after rescuing the
data. I then did an "archive & install" to put a clean version of OSX
10.4.9 on my computer, and reinstalled Slimserver.

I've had Slimserver performance problems ever since my system
reinstall. The main problem is that the Squeezebox loses connection
with the G5 about every five minutes and has to relocate it, which
takes a few minutes. It seems to get hung up for no reason at all. I've
tried tweaking all sorts of settings, reinstalling SlimServer,
installing the nightly build, uninstalling, and nothing seems to work.
Also, when I try to use the web interface, it's typically very, very
slow. Yes, I've repaired permissions several times.

I never had any problems with the SlimServer prior to this.

Anyone have any ideas?
