I tested AVG on a test machine and it didn't seem to cause the original problem which replacing socketwrapper fixed.
Do you have any other special networking software installed such as a VPN client to access/use company network securely from home. I did a little bit of testing with socketwrapper and flipping between songs but couldn't reproduce the crashes.
