That would be consistent with the bug that many people have reported. Since the Squeezebox display goes blank when not connected to a server, and usually remains blank with this bug, then it may just _appear_ to be completely off when it is in fact fumbling around in the dark trying to the reconnect to the server. Repowering with the remote is a workaround that works for many people.
