The bug in question is now here: http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=4925 This behavior is not specific to iTunes and I suggest you vote for it.
Another workaround would be to enable the Composer and Conductor option in Composer, Band and Orchestra in Artists under Home / Server Settings / Behavior.
