Most of AlienBBC is to do with parsing BBC web site to get urls for programs and streams. This is not relevant to RadioTime.
AlienBBC also sets up handlers for RTSP (realaudio) URLS and rm, rpm and ram extensions. If radiotime delivers an URL in the correct format - slimserver will run it. I think RadioTime may mean FM/AM through a radio card in the PC when it refers to "real fm/am". Finally - The "Listen" URL when tuning into Alice is a "streamtheworld" URL which is specially set up to make users use a web browser to view the ads.
