IMHO it's basically a product for fidelity fetishists. For those people, high prices are a pro. Obviously, the SD guys didn't want to rip them off completely so they added lots of features as a justification. Makes sense to me. I'll never buy one, though. I like my equipment small and discreet (no funny remarks please).
