I'm with Heuer 100% - I use FLAC2MP3 and have decent MP3s on my iPod,
as FLAC files were a major battery drain.  I still use Rockbox,
although it does seem to crash a fair bit.  I use Etymotic earbuds and
can't detect a difference, as I only use it on the train/tube/outside.
