It is certainly true that if the sound comes out of your speakers, you don't really care how it gets there. With that in mind, it will ultimately all come from the web - uncompressed, whenever you want it. In a similar vein, you won't have prints up on your wall either, you will have flat light-sensative panels displaying your artwork - also streaming from the web. You check into a hotel room across the world, and your artwork and music will follow you without you thinking about it. It won't take that long for this to happen either. Meanwhile - I have the music server now that I always wanted..... until I get tired of it, and want something else. I really want to run Ubuntu on the new Pico-ITX board.
