Or the Windows feature of adding extensions to help you... Ie, edit a file, save it as "folder.jpg" and watch the real filename be "folder.jpg.jpg".... Depending on your settings it may show up in a file list in Windows Explorer as "Folder.jpg" and hide the extra .jpg that is there. There is a "Show me the real filenames and quit hiding file extensions" in Windows somewhere, i think the options for the folder view.
