>From a community standpoint, I think it's a good idea. It wouldn't harm sales in any way... If someone wants to sell a Squeezebox, they're going to sell it somehow. The forum would just make it convenient to community members.
You'd need some fairly clear rules and there would be some inevitable moderation, including the locking and deletion of threads. I would hope that's OK with everyone and doesn't raise the censorship debate once again. But the forum won't be for discussion, so it should be fine. I would suggest permitting the sale of anything audio, as well as pretty much anything computer & networking related. Again, as a convenience (service?) to community members. Want to sell a wireless router that someone else could use? Perfect place for it. I would also suggest that users _not_ be permitted to post links to eBay auctions or to listings on other for-sales sites such as Audiogon. Require a full item description and a clearly stated price (with or without OBO) for all items appearing in listings. -- JJZolx Jim ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=34723 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
