The SB2 and SB3 can play back WAV files, and (if you've got a fixed digital output level and no MP3 transcoding) will pass the exact contents of the WAV file over S/PDIF to your receiver. The SB2/3 itself knows nothing about surround sound formats (and it's only got stereo analogue output, so it couldn't do anything with the extra channels anyway). What sort of WAV did you create?
