The specifications on my Buffalo LinkStation NAS say it consumers a MAXIMUM of 17 watts. I have it configured to spin down its drive after an hour of inactivity, so perhaps it's using 10 watts or less most of the time. The thing is tiny, no bigger than most external disk drives. It's incredibly quiet (no fan noise). And it only cost me about $200.
Other than dealing with the initial Linux set up hassle (certainly not for the lazy), I don't see any reason why I would want to use a PC or Mac as a SlimServer instead. -- TiredLegs ------------------------------------------------------------------------ TiredLegs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=6201 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=37416 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
