I had started typing a long reply, however have just realised are you
running XP Home? if so I am not sure that remote desktop is available
in this version of XP. I am running XP Professional.
This probably explains why you are not seeing all the remote access
options.
Does anybody else know if remote desktop is possible on XP Home?
