THANKS!  This pointed me toward exactly what I needed.  My soundcard
(CM8738) provides surround-sound; it also has 2 separately-addressable
DAC's, so I can have 2 separate 2-channel outputs.  I now have 2
instances of squeezeslave, perfectly synced (or not, depending on who's
listening where).
