I know this topic has come up before, but I haven't found a reasonable
explanation / solution.

In the last weeks a scanning problem has turned up which I did not have
before. Re-scanning my database (50.000+) started to take hours and
hours. Even when I choose to scan for new music only.
Before this problem it'd only take few minutes. As far as I know
nothing has seriously changed, apart from the ususal system updates.

In the past, I occasionally had a problem with Slimserver hogging up my
system. This seemed to be a Perl/Mysql problem. A complete un- and
reinstall used to fix this - but not this time.

There's a serious problem now, and I don't know how to handle this.
I already downgraded to the latest (stable) version, but this also did
not fix it.
Anyone experienced something like this? Any suggestions will be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Peter
