I came home today to find that my SB2 display was blank. After investigating
my server for a few minutes, I worked out that it was the unit itself.
Fortunately, it appears to just be the power supply unit. I took the SB2
upstairs and plugged it into the SB3 PSU, and it came to life. Phew!
So, now I need a new PSU. I've got an old SB1 PSU, the output seems similar
but not equivalent. Is this safe to use on an SB2?
The SB2 PSU (UK model) says:
I/P: AC 100-240V 50/60Hz 0.3A
O/P: DC 5V 2A
The SB1 PSU says:
I/P: 230V 50Hz 25mA
O/P: 6V 70mA 0.42VA
I suppose I could try looking for a new generic configurable PSU from my local
Maplin store - probably safer.
