I will concede that I may be the luckiest shipper in the world. I have never had a problem with UPS.
Canada Post on the other hand: No attempt to deliver/ falsified notices of delivery attempts, so I have to pick it up myself. No attempt to deliver/no falsified notification of attempt to deliver resulted in something being sent back to the US. Our local postal outlet dropped the franchise because they spent all their time handling parcels that the post office never attempted to deliver. The lineups got so bad that they where interfering with normal store traffic. The tracking for Canada Post/USPS is a joke, if the parcel tracks at all. Three weeks in customs versus three hours. etc. etc etc. As for the UPS Brokerage fee. If you don't ship ground then there is no brokerage fee. If Ground is your only choice, push the numbers and pick the supplier with the lowest all-in cost. If it's to my advantage, I use UPS ground. Still, one of the funniest threads I read a few years ago was some guy who was indignant about UPS, so he put the supplier through hoops to send it Fedex Ground. Had a good laugh about that one. One bit of advice. If you are dealing with a local dealer, make sure you negotiate. I did so on my Transporter and got a very good deal. -- riffer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ riffer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13459 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40499 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
