I don't usually build playlists but yes, I can see how this would help.
And as mentioned, SC7 does have this functionality.

This can't happen as long as SC7 is a web application because the
browser won't know what to do with the files.  And there are big
advantages to a web application, it's visible with any machine on the
LAN as well as over the Internet.  Every device with a web browser can
use it.

The sort of functionality you describe would only be available with a
native application, and one would have to be made for each OS.  As a
Linux user, I fear we'd be left out.

Frankly, I'm glad Logitech is quite clear they don't want to go down
the native application route and lock Linux users out.

I guess the reason I don't see what all the fuss is about is that I
don't use SS/SC in a way that I really need drag n' drop.  I'll play
either a whole album or a random mix, I almost never use playlists.
