Just press the volume up button on the remote or use the player volume at the top left of the SS screen. Check also that Preamp Volume Control isn't set, Player Settings - Audio. It should be 0, meaning no attenuation. However the volume buttons will also adjust analog volume and you say that's working. You say that swapping inputs works. How about the cable, can you swap that? This may be a hardware problem, but before talking to support try unplugging the power, pressing and holding "1" and replugging power (resetting Xilinx) and if that doesn't help, a factory reset, the same as above only press and hold "+"/ADD.
