The Xilinx is a CLPD: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CPLD It's a chip which can be reprogrammed, which is what you do when you go through the "press and hold 1 on power up" procedure.
I believe it handles the codecs and some of the general audio operation (the digital to analog conversion is handled by the DAC though). In the rare event I get an audio glitch, this usually clears it up. I think this is what is known as SlimDSP - the codecs are in software so new ones can (and have) been added and others can be changed. This usually fixes it for me. Unfortunately in your case it does sound as if something is malfunctioning, you shouldn't have to redo it every 20 minutes. -- Mark Lanctot Sean Adams: "So you mean, aside from the fact that Squeezebox does not do 96KHz, why doesn't it do 96KHz?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mark Lanctot's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2071 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=41897 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
