If it wasn't clear you need to have Squeezecenter* installed on laptop A, and then enable/install Softsqueeze as Schatzy noted. You should now be able to play your music library on the stereo if the laptop is connected to it. I'm not sure exactly how you iTunes fits in, but there are options for configuring it in the setup wizard IIRC.
* This is the beta version, but you may as well get used to the interface as it will be released with and required by the Duet. http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest/7.0/ The Windows Executable file will work with WinXP. The good news is you don't need to install SqueezeCenter on laptop B. You can control the Softsqueeze laptop with laptop B by opening a web browser and going to http://"Laptop A's IP":9000. You can get "Laptop A's IP" by going to Settings at the bottom right of SC, and looking in the Status panel. It should look something like http://192.168.1.34:9000.
