It would be 3 hops, Server to AP, AP to Repeater, Repeater to player. Depending upon whether the repeater is doing store and forward on the same channel or using two channels will affect latency. Radish is right in this case I was considering that the end devices may have perfect signals but if the link between the AP and repeater is bad then it could be saturated with retries which the end devices don't see.
