Hi, I'm pretty new to SS. I'm in the process of ripping my 2500 cd's. Yesterday I finally managed to get compilations to work.
But I have a very mysterious problem with the sortorder when browsing albums by name. I can't see any kind of system to it. SlimServer Version: 6.5.4 - 12568 - Debian - EN - iso-8859-1 Perl Version: 5.8.8 i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi MySQL Version: 5.0.51-3 Below are some screenshots. What is the sortorder here? P C A G T P .... Notice "The Pet Sounds Sessions" 1 & 3, not being next to each other... Also notice entry no. 3 " Alle Tiders Clausen..." is also entry no. 423!! At entry no. 3 it list 17 of the 21 songs on the album. At entry no. 423 the last 4 songs are listed. All 21 songs are in the same directory btw. I've shown the tags for two of the songs. Track 1 being listed in the album entry no. 423 and track 2 being listed in album no. 3! Sorting by "year,album" shows exactly the same order! Sorting by "year,artist,album" also dosen't work. Sorting by "artist,album" & "artist,year,album" works fine. I cleared the cache last night and did a new scan (to get compilations to work). But the album listening didn't work before and it dosen't work now either. I have never gotten "clear library and rescan everything" to work. It just dosen't do anything. I don't know why. So I always clears the cache manually when doing major changes. Don't know if this problem is in any way connected to my sorting problem?
