There are many wasy to do satellite radio and IIRC the apache server approach was used to separate the PC receiving satellit from the PC running Slimserver.
If you can use a simple application to control the staellit hardware which is a command line application where command line options specify the channel to be used and the output of the spplication is an audio stream (e.g. wav, mp3, wma). The analogy would be the Griifin radioShark - which is a USB FM/AM radio - this is straightforward to stream through Slimservers.
