Here's a simple trick that a friend taught me when my Asus EEE PC showed up with a few stuck pixels:
As soon as possible after discovering you have the problem, take a high quality microfiber cloth and rub in a circular motion over the affected area. It may "un-stick" the bad pixel. I did this on my Asus and it worked well. Although I can make assumptions about how or why this may in some cases, I don't know for sure.
