It was consistent. I made several tries with different files. I got an error with
/Users/danco/music/playlist/Alienstream/Drama/Afternoon Play/Friday.m3u I thought the file name might be too long, so moved Friday.m3u into /Users/danco and it worked. Then, as mentioned, I moved Friday Play.m3u (a different item) into /Users/danco and got the error message again. It's not going to affect me any more, I think, as I just got rid of the spaces and imported, so I have everything imported now. If it works on Linux I would expect it to work on Mac OS X. So maybe there's just something odd with my setup.
