My first post, although I have been lurking here for a year or so:-) (and tracking the testing of Jive/Duet with interest although no one in the UK outside the beta group has one yet - hopefully we will by next week).
I am having a similar problem to Killie99 in that compilation albums arent listed under Various Artists, despite having the Music Library\Group Compilation Albums Together option set under SC 7.0. I am running SC 7.0 on Vista using Windows Media Player 11 to rip my music files as WMA lossless. All compilation albums are stored by default under the normal Various Artists folder (on a NAS share), with each compilation album having its own folder under this. I upgraded from SlimServer 6.5.4 which previously had no problems for me handling compilation albums (nor did any of the versions of Slimserver before this). I have tried clearing the library in SC 7.0 and starting a rescan but this made no difference (it takes about 4-5 hours to scan 5000 tracks so it is a bit frustrating having to wait this long only to find that the problem remains). I then deleted the database (ibdata1) under: C:\Users\All Users\SqueezeCenter\Cache\MySQL and started a full scan, this completed the directory scanning and then moved onto playlist scanning but this never completed (the log files indicated that the scanner could no longer access the database). I shutdown SC & killed the scanner.exe process & uninstalled SC 7.0. I then installed last night's 7.0.1 binary, and the scan started automatically when the SC setup was completed, so I set the Group Compilation Albums Together option, but the problem still remains: No compilation albums are shown under Various Artists. I see that Killie99 has suggested setting the Compilation=1 tag for the compilation music files. However, this isnt available under the Windows Media Player "Advanced" edit function. The problem suggests to me that either SC 7.x is ignoring the Group Compilation Albums Together option or the logic for scanning compilation album files has changed between 6.5.4 to SC 7.x.
