Existing favorites are stored in the file slimserver.pref for 6.5. With 7.0 this is converted into a new format and stored in the playlist directory as favorites.opml.
It is intended that the upgrade will import your old favorites into the new 7.0 format automatically. There is a possible exception to this on some windows platforms as the location where these files are stored has moved. I would advise copying the old file and then performing the upgrade. If your favorites are not automatically transfered then I am afraid you will need to search the old file for them and transfer them manually.
