The 8000S really holds up quite well. I was starting to wonder whether it still was competitive, most of the original 8000S's are more than 10 yrs old now. So I mentioned this to a local hi-fi dealer. Incidentally he had a used 8000S in the backroom which he offered to demo side by side with a $1800 Primaire. And the result was impressing.
