I've read that doing a reset on the xilinx chip can solve problems similar to this. It is easy to do, so regardless it is worth a try.
A quote from another thread: "Press and hold the 1 button on your remote during bootup to do this." Perhaps in the FW upgrade the occurs when moving to SC, the xilinx got scrambled.
