Your controller just doesn't cope well with your access point, that's all. Now it's time to find out what the problem with your AP is. Post brand and model of your AP, wireless encryption and wireless channel, etc. Try to connect with wireless encryption disabled. Also try different wireless channels to see if that makes a difference. Disable any signal booster or pre-N specific settings. Make sure mac address filtering is disabled and turn on SSID broadcast if it's disabled.
