I find myself switching between two main styles of using the Squeezebox. Late at night, I often play random ambient tracks. Since the tracks often come from gapless albums, I like to set a massive crossfade to paper over what would otherwise be jarring jumps. I usually turn off any volume adjustment as well. At other times, I'll want no crossfade; for a mixed playlist I'll usually want smart gain.
Nine times out of ten, I'll forget to change the settings between each style; and after the first surprise I have to rummage around in the settings pages (or with the remote) to restore things appropriately. It would be really nice to have some way to have stored sets of configurations, so (for example) I could choose my "ambient" configuration. Even better would be able to associate configurations with playlists, so when I choose a playlist, (by default) I get the configuration as well. Are there ways to do this already? The best I can imagine doing myself is to bookmark a few parameter-heavy URLs; and I suspect that won't work because I think the SC URL syntax won't support multiple settings in the same URL.
