My advice with technology - don't go cutting edge. If you do, you're giving yourself up to be a "guinea pig" test bed.
You don't have much choice to downgrade with a Duet, but I run a SB3 and run an older version of SlimServer (6.5.4). It's totally stable and gives me many many hours of uninterrupted music. I won't be upgrading in a hurry.
