I'd had Symantec Corporate on my server at one point. It started creating problems when I upgraded to SC 7 (actually, it happened mid-way through the series of betas). Fairly frustrating, and puzzling, as I'd uninstalled Symantec some while before. Turns out, the only way to -really- get their stuff out of your system is to reformat and reinstall.
I was looking at other anti-virus apps, and finally decided - I don't need one for a dedicated server. Oh, I've got ClamWin, but it's not actually installed - I'm just using one of the DLLs and the virus db to scan email attachements on the way through. I've recently started using ghostwall (firewall). Likely unnecessary as I'm behind a commercial-quality firewall, but ghostwall is very lightweight and very configurable. I'm not sure I'd recommend it to a tyro though, as it does assume you know exactly what you are doing. Free, though... -- bobkoure ------------------------------------------------------------------------ bobkoure's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=14646 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=46779 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
