On my audio rig, I run Meridian Trifield in a 4.2 setup, currently with phantom center. I am building a true center to determine whether it's an improvement. For my music preferences - classical guitar, chamber music, blues and jazz (sources with substantial amounts of recorded ambience information) - surround sound is a vast improvement. With this sort of music, the difference between surround and stereo sound is dramatic and compelling.
