With a previous version (I forget which level -- 6.5 maybe) I occasionally had dropouts with my SB1, but I never have them with 7.0 or 7.0.1.
Also, 7.0+ seems to scan my music library faster, but I never did any official tests as far as that goes. Oh, and the web interface is significantly faster, although I use it a lot less now that I bought the Duet (the SBC has replaced a lot of what I used to do via the web interface). My overall impression of 7.0+ is very positive. However, I do not use very many plugins. The one potential concern I am aware of is that if you use third party plugins, you will need to make sure that they've been updated to support 7.0+.
