It has IR, and there is a test applet that gives you the ability to use it as a squeezebox remote emulator. The controller, however, is not designed to serve as a universal remote and the IR is output only (ie: not learning) Presumably, it should be possible to create an applet that would output the ir codes that you need, but very much non-trivial to do so.
