Hi all,

I have owned a Squeezebox 2 for a couple of years, and on the spur of
the moment, just bought a Squeezebox Duet. One advantage with the
Logitech buyout, is that you can actually buy Slimdevices products in
Australia!

The good: The controller is very responsive, has reasonable wireless
range, and the battery life is good considering it appears to be ready
to go at a moments notice. So a big tick for the OS.

The bad: The hardware. The screen. The scroll-wheel. The screen is
embarassing compared to my 2 year old phone, it is terrible compared to
my iPhone. Outside in direct sunlight it is unreadable.

The scoll-wheel ..... again the same as the screen. This would be
acceptable for 2002, maybe 2005, but it is 2008! A physical scroll
wheel? If you are going to rip something off, at least do it
properly.

Scratches: I had a quick read when I received the Duet last week and
peps are complaining about it scratching easily. I havent added any to
the front of my controller yet, but out of the box, even under the Apple
styled plastic wrap there were scratches and or skuffs on the back of
the controller and the front of the player.

Summary. Software is almost there. Hardware, Logitech, please go talk
to whomever builds Apple's gear.

Cheers
Steve
