I think you linked to the wrong bug in your post. Following your link led to a bug where the problem was confirmed within a few weeks, and a workaround was provided by SlimDevices staff until a better fix becomes available.
I'm sure SlimDevices hasn't always been this responsive (although they have with the bugs I've filed).
