After just reinstalling 7.0.1 to no avail, I uninstalled 7.0.1 and then reinstalled it again to get a fresh start. Now things are again working. I didn't change anything in my Microsoft OneCare firewall or anything else. I didn't even reboot to get things working; just uninstalled and reinstalled. Hope this helps someone!
