Just as a hint for others - I had to format reg query command as: reg query "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders" /v "Common AppData"
rather than reg "query HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders\Common AppData" as requested - perhaps a differnce in version of the reg shell command?
