I'm also on Mac but using Tiger (laptop) and Leopard (desktop). Could it be that Panther is just not capable with the new SC software? I only just upgraded my laptop to Tiger in the last 2 weeks after 5 yrs of Panther--let me tell you it is WORTH it! Tiger is a cool operating system and there are many many new features on it making it worth your while. If you don't want to upgrade from Panther i would say just revert to 6.5, since it worked fine. I don't find the upgrades and revisions in SC 7 to be that major. And 7.0.1 would NOT work with either Tiger or Leopard so I had to uninstall that update.
