I'm not sure who to direct this to, so I'm posting here. I noticed in my mail server logs that the forums are sending email with an envelope sender in a non-existent domain, causing rejects:
Jul 14 00:11:54 glacier postfix/smtpd[29833]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from forums.slimdevices.com[74.201.85.73]: 450 4.1.8 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: Sender address rejected: Domain not found; from=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> to=<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> proto=ESMTP helo=<lists.slimdevices.com> $ host web.slimdevices.com web.slimdevices.com has address 207.7.156.2 $ host forums.web.slimdevices.com Host forums.web.slimdevices.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN) Many mail servers are configured to reject mail when the sender envelope has a domain part that doesn't exist, as this makes email not bounce-able. Someone should either create a forums.web.slimdevices.com A record in DNS or canonicalize the envelope sender address to a valid domain. It may be that this is just a temporary DNS problem with slim's DNS servers, or this could be a misconfiguration. Either way, mail's gonna bounce until its resolved. -- MrC ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MrC's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=468 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=49835 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
