I agree that backup is crucial. This is part of the reason I'm moving everything to a raid server AND keeping my backups. Let me add that I think it a good idea (just like with real work)to keep the backups off site. With the weird weather much of the world is having, I'd hate to lose my house and my music at the same time. I had significant earthquake damage in '89 when I still lived in SF. Dealing with the insurance claims adjuster was not fun.
