You have just a cable running from the SB to the shuttle PC? Try inserting a network switch, that might help. In my experience, once an SB3 loses its ethernet connection, like when you remove the cable or reboot the switch it cannot reconnect to the network. This is quite a hassle and, frankly, it's the only network device I own that has that problem (and I own quite a few).
