However, the original questioner already has a Squeezebox - so this did not seem to be a question about using a Reciva-based device instead of a Squeezebox - but asking if the list of stations/podcasts/on-demand content could be made available. An example of a difference between the two approaches is that the Reciva database of radio stations is searchable/browsable within a genre or country across the complete list of radio stations - whereas the Slim approach is to start from a station list provider (unless there is something I missed that aggregates across the different sources). I wonder though - how many people, once the first couple of months of use has passed, really go on pseudo-random searches across the station list. If you want to play genre-based music then I expect that people home in a small number of the stations that they find they like ... and add them as favourites/presets. I suspect that the usage patterns for the different vendors equipment are different - with most Squeeze users tending to spend more listening hours with their own collection and Reciva-based users tending to spend more time using internet radio. My own use ... couple of SB2 that are used mainly to listen to locally stored music and a couple of Reciva-based devices for simple internet radio listening. In fact, I started to write a few words about it in http://dabdig.blogspot.com (next chapter is in draft - and it will talk about why I came to add a Reciva-based device into the home mix) -- Paul Webster Paul Webster http://www.lastfm.com/user/BondJamesBond ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Paul Webster's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=105 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50545 _______________________________________________ discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
