I have used SS 6.5.4 previously which worked fine on my old server. I rebuilt to WHS and saw that SC 7.0.1 was out so installed it, but it would only ever find 220 files in my music directory (when i have nearly 1300 albums and 15500+ tracks). I cleared out the prefs file etc that i found in the FAQ's but this didn't change the 220 figure it always found. I pointed SC to my network drive with a copy of the music on (got 2 copies at the mo due to rebuilding raid drives) and it found the same amount.
Uninstalled and installed SS 6.5.4, and it found all 1296 albums straight away - upgraded to SC 7.0.1 and it would only find the 220 again. Uninstalled and put 6.5.4 back on then saw SC 7.1 was out, but again, this only finds 220 files. Interestingly, WMP only finds 220 files also when it scans the same folder, so is WMP and SC using the same API? Switched on debugging, and it doesn't appear to flag any errors, but for some reason, it only sees 220 files and starts adding files from 'Vi' through to 'W' (doesn't find Zero 7 albums) - would be great if any of my music was in amongst this, but it's all the missus' music - Wham, Wet Wet Wet, Will Young etc which i am getting tempted to delete.... I have also uninstalled AV (AVG Network) and reinstalled SC 7.1 after clearing down everything (used ccleaner to clear down registry as well) but still hitting that 220 number. Anybody had similar issues or provide any pointers? Would like to upgrade to 7.1 as i can access it via my pda.
