Dear all, I kindly would ask you if you could help me with my research on Software Carpentry.
Greg Wilson and I are conducting research to analyse what impact the workshop made on participants with respect their your professional skills. Greg does not need a formal introduction here but I do ... I am a Software Sustainability Institute Fellow. http://www.software.ac.uk/fellows/alexandra-simperler I use my fellowship to work on making software training better. My main interest is in teaching computational chemistry software and making it accessible to a wide range of scientists. The courses I teach and SC are so called one-off teaching events. Basically we have a maximum of two days to add to your professional development. We would like to interview participants of SC to analyse the impact this workshop has made on them. Thus, if you were a participant we would kindly ask if you were willing to take part in an interview. Your experience will help us to analyse the status quo of SC and will enable us to make it better. If you know participants we will be very happy for you to forward this. We cannot reimburse you for your efforts other than assure you that your contributions will lead to an improved version of SC. The interviews can be done via telephone or skype and thus can be arranged at a convenient time. I do hold a valid Ethics Approval for this study and every participant will be informed what exactly we do with their data.
