Hi,
After watching conference center staff in New Orleans take half an hour
to figure out how to get a friend in a wheelchair up to the third floor
(where he was supposed to be teaching a workshop), I think it's time we
added a one-page guide on accessibility to our workshop guidelines. I'm
therefore looking for a volunteer to consolidate:
*
https://modelviewculture.com/pieces/unlocking-the-invisible-elevator-accessibility-at-tech-conferences
*
http://hannah-thompson.blogspot.ca/2014/11/practising-inclusive-access.html
*
https://modelviewculture.com/pieces/qa-making-tech-events-accessible-to-the-deaf-community
* http://wiscon.info/access.php
into a checklist with explanations that we can give to hosts and lead
instructors. If you're up for it, please mail me (and if you have links
to other resources that should be folded in, please mail them to me as
well).
Thanks,
Greg
